Patiently Waiting For FOS

Have been waiting and waiting for the Ombudsman to look at our case, which was upheld by the adjudicator but refused by Norton Finance, for a final decision.
My question is .... do I remain patient and wait for them to contact me or do I regularly chase them ?
Up until a couple of months ago I did get regular updates, usually saying there is a backlog and they were unable to give a timescale !
We are supposed to be a "hardship case" and be a priority.
I felt that as they have a backlog I should not keep pestering them, giving them a chance to catch up with their backlog, rather than keep having to deal with claimnants chasing their cases, but maybe that has back fired on me they have put me to the back of queue as I do not seem desparate..... well I am desparate both financially and mentally.
Anyone got any good advice on what I should do ? and can anyone who has recently had an Ombudsman's decision tell me how long they had to wait ??
Many thanks
Clare

There are only a small number of ombudsman. The wait for these is typically up to 2 years.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
