Rant alert what are my rights

Hi all not sure if this is the right place to post but i have always had good advice on this site and thought you may be able to help

so thing is i was cold called by 3 mobile and offered a contract with a LG gt405 £15 a month(btw i cant find it on LG site) i didnt like the phone today when it arrived but thought i would give it a chance and try it out. I was told by the original caller that i had 14 days to change my mind so have a play with the phone and see if i liked it. I did turn the phone on and have a play with it this included seeing how the Internet ran on it i was only online long enough to sign in to facebook and then off again ( about 1 min ). I then decided i did not like the phone and wanted to swap it for the other phone i was offered for £20 a month this would have been HTC wildfire. so just called three and the first person said yes i will send you through to our exchange department. this woman is helpful until i tell her i went on the internet she then said that she could not do anything as i had used the internet and if i wished to cancel my contract that will cost me £450ish i told her i was happy with the sim card just not the phone and that i wanted to keep the sim and change the phone. She said that if she could do it she would but the system does not allow it because of my internet use. So i am stuck with a phone that is so similar to my original phone i dont even think i will use it.
Not sure what im looking for here but needed to vent some stress.

Hi Bargin,
It seems to me you only have a chance under DSR's as it was done over the phone and you will not have had a copy of the T&C's ....however that may depend on what paperwork arrived with the phone ie. did they send a copy of them ???
The other chance you have is to request a transcript of the call where the sales person tells you to have a play with the phone to see if you like it and whether he mentioned going online or not ???It's not just about the money0
