Cars "in the trade"

:rotfl: - not done anything, but I have the full V5 in my posession, so it's not registered to me until I send it off....
all the trader has to do is fill in the form stating who was in control of the vehicle when the offence occurred. the person named, will then be contacted to confirm whether this is correct or not. it doesnt matter who the car is registered to

But it is an offence and not a defence to say 'I don't know'. That loophole was closed a few years ago...all the trader has to do is fill in the form stating who was in control of the vehicle when the offence occurred. the person named, will then be contacted to confirm whether this is correct or not. it doesnt matter who the car is registered to

If I'd told the dealer I was John Smith at 123 Fake Street then it'd never be able to come back to me then?
(I didn't, btw)0 -

i started doing forms that customers had to fill in before they could have a test drive with me
they didnt like it and sales bombed
i now treat customers by attitude, if they are plausible we go the hog,
if they have 3 more to look at i tell them to do one first and come back if they wish
im saving the planet (well im saving my fuel actually) interesting how many sales are made on a saturday after 3.00pm though0 -
Heh, not talking about test drives though, he's sold me the car and given me the entire V5 (presumedly he, wrongly, thinks that constitutes a "trade sale" and he can avoid his obligations under SOGA)0

Did he know where his towel was?
