Cash Convertors 7 day warranty of games rubbish?

Hi there i bought 2 games last week from my local cash convertor stor final fantasy x for the ps2 and fable for xbox + some other games which were ok, anyway fable had the wrong disk iin it, it had some skating game and final fantasy well it has a 5cm crack in the disk tottaly useless.

anyway took them back today with the receipt when i bought them 8 days ago and asked for a refund..

assistant made a fuss saying they have a 24 hour warranty and you should of phoned up asking to bring them back if you could not get into town (which is about 20 miles + ive not had time or no need to go there)

anyway made a stomp saying im going to trading standards consumer direct if they dont refund, assiatant says well there signs up saying it must be returned in 24 hours( yet receipt says nothing about this. anyway after making a fuss i finnaly got a refund when i mentioned phoning trading standards they seemed to change tune when i mentioned this.

NOW PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS SCAM ( i say scam because i felt they were trying to rip me off), THE 7 DAY WARRANTY IS RUBBISH AND IS NOT WORTH THE PAPERS ITS WRITTEN ON, can't believe a store is doing this absolute unbelieveable, especially some store that has shops across the country.

there is link on the direct gov website that states that a faulty item can be returned in 60 days if the trader’s cant prove the item wasn’t faulty when bought.
