ESA and work

hi there,
I have a query regarding working and claiming esa(ib)
My wife is on esa(ib) in WRAG, DLA- HRM/LRC and I do not work at present myself so the esa is a joint claim. Can I work part time without affecting the money she recieves and if so how much/long

thanks

THe limit is 24 hours/week, however, as your wife is receiving Income Related ESA, it will be a joint claim, as a result your income will be deducted from her benefit, I think the first £20 is disregarded but after that it is deducted on a pro rata basis.

If you do start to work you need to inform the DWP immediately.
