Hi,
Ive been with natwest since i was 13 im mow 22.
I went over a a pound or so and was charged £30 odd and they took it out of my child allowance (which I coundnt afford) randomly.
I received a letter that I went over £1 odd again (few months later) and they were charging meI had no opition but to take all funds out and get my benefits through giro, as I have no family to borrow from and need my money to get by.
They kept charging and charging. I was sent a application to fill in as I was on jobseekers and cound not afford the money they were asking. I received a letter a few weeks later explaining that I would need to pay it as i could.
I had to leave it and try to ignore it but now its £600 for a £30 charge for going over £1 odd!!!
At the moment I m on jobseekers and child tax and live in a hostel as im homeless. what can I do please someone should i ring them????

thnak you
any advice is great

Dont ignore it some more, in a few weeks it will be even bigger.

You should have spoken to them at the start and avoided all of this, they may go easy on you if you speak to them, but they dont need to, you will have agreed to these charges when you took on the account, so they may take a hard line.
  • I'm having a similar problem with my RBS overdraft. I've tried really hard to set up a payment plan with them but they've whacked on about £600 worth of charges over the last couple of months, taking my debt with them from £2700 to £3300. I'm hoping CCCS can get them on board with my DMP and hopefully they'll stop charges (and perhaps even refund me for all this time they've been charging me whilst I've been trying to pay) but to be honest I think it's just the RBOS group policy. B******s.

Do not ignore it! It will not go away!

Ring them & explain your circumstances and arrange a repayment plan.
