Hi,
I'm looking at starting a stocks & shares ISA, with medium risk as a long term investment.
Any ideas ?
I've looked at various comparison sites, but I get different results from each one. Very confusing

I opened a Vantage S&S ISA with Hargreaves and Lansdown nearly 2 years ago. I picked my own funds, 7 funds x£50 per month. Straightforward no difficultiesMortgage free

Cool,
but I have no idea of what funds to pick, so would prefer the choices managed for me.0 -

You either DIY or use an IFA. DIY means you pick.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. the comparison sites compare the performance of the funds performance from previous years etc.

That isnt how you pick funds though. It can have an impact in the decision but you have other things to consider as well. e.g. did a particular fund come out top because it heavily invested into an area that was higher risk than the other funds in the same sector and in that particular period that extra risk paid off. Now, could that extra risk cause it be more volatile and subject to greater falls in the next period.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
