Egg Tart to Barclaycard Tart ?

I am coming to the end of a 0% deal on my Egg Card and looking to move on to a new deal.
The current 20 month deal from Barclaycard Platinum looks attractive enough. Before jumping, however, does anyone know if the recent purchase of Egg card accounts by Barclaycard mean that I am now classed as an "exisiting" customer and therefore unlikely to qualify for "new customer" incentives like this one?

You're probably asking about the "This offer is only available to new customers" bit - it'd be nice if anyone could comment on that. Personally I'm not sure if there's a clear cut policy, but as Egg should have sold each of the credit card accounts, it's either too late, or the time is running out really soon now. I would say that if Barclaycard sent any personal communication to you (related to your own card, like a statement, advising to open an online account), then don't bother.
Are you sure though that the offer is good enough? 20 months at 3.2% is not always better than RBS groups 18 months at 2.8%, especially with the new minimum payment structure. After 18 months, the card will have aged sufficiently to not influence your chances for any other 0% BT.Enjoy the silence...0 -
I don't think Barclaycard will allow a balance transfer to Egg as it's now a Barclaycard company.0

Assuming you mean from Egg(?), then someone on this board has very recently (but after the 29/4/11 sale date) reported such a BT from Egg to Barclaycard going through without a hitch.I don't think Barclaycard will allow a balance transfer to Egg as it's now a Barclaycard company.
Probably just got lucky though.0 -
I meant money transferring from Barclaycard to Egg (ie creating a debt with Barclaycard and reducing the debt with Egg, which I think is what the OP was suggesting). I guess that is a BT from Egg to Barclaycard as you say; sorry for any confusion.0
