Items misdescribed, send them back?

Hello
Bid and won on two nwot silk tops for 99p + 2.50 postage.
Tops turn up and are polyester and one has broken stitching.
Seller insinuates I broke them, demands photo proof and does not acknowledge the misdescription.
I send a photo and get the response 'What do you want me to do? Would you like to send the tops back'
I partly can't be bothered sending them back but I suppose I have to if I want a refund. If I do, what postage should the seller refund? Just the outward or my return costs?
I am annoyed, busy trying to complete academic work, and this is just a load of faff in the midst of a LOT of stress.
Ta in advance for any advice, and thanks for reading my rant.

You can ask them to refund your return costs but I wouldn't hold your breath! Ebay won't enforce any more refund than your initial purchase+postage cost. Your only recourse is via the feedback you give.0

To be honest for that price if the seller was not helpful i would neg them and mark them down for description in their stars0

At 99p, I'd just leave a neg saying "silk tops were actually made of polyester, and stitching undone", and mark their star ratings down.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thanks for the responses. I, very kindly I think, sent them a photo of the damage despite their insinuation. I've had no apology and for £3.50 they can just swallow a neg.0
