I purchased a catering trailer online as a investment and made a cash transfer as this was interest fee and the best option for me. Only to find out that this person / business had been hacked into and their identity stolen. My money has gone £2300 and mastercard tell me this is not fraud as i gave the money (cash transaction not card purchase) This has been reported to the police and under investigation but Virgin will not give me a refund. Can anyone help on the matter. I was under the impression that all master card transactions would be covered????:(

The mastercard transaction, a cash advance/money transfer to your account was not fraudulent. Therefore Virgin have nothing to refund.

It was you that was defrauded and the only thing you can do is inform the police which you have already done.
