I bought my first computer from Mesh 8 years ago. It was Ok ish but their after sales service and tech support was virtually non-existent. I seem to remember it was 9-5 Mon to Fri. This may well have changed but it was the reason I refused to buy another from them.

I currently have a Dell and it has - touch wood- been vityually problem free. Mind you their technical support is hit and miss and costly too. Part is in India, part in Londonderry,and always busy.

Is that £599 before VAT? If it is after VAT then it looks like a decent price.

Bought my sister's computer from Mesh and she's had no problems with it. We went with them because of the option to configure the individual components. I started looking for a PC myself recently though and found Mesh a bit pricey compared to just buying a base unit and separate monitor particularly as I have a number of the internal components already.

Have a look at Computer Shopper for recent reviews of PC's of all prices.

As for the spec of your computer, I'd be worried about the Direct 2D/3D Onboard Shared Memory Graphics and SONY 52x CD RW & 16x DVD-ROM Drive (Combo) both of which need upgrading to make use of the performance of the processor.

I've had two Mesh computers and they have been fantastic, had no problems with both systems, I have never had to ring customer service so can't comment if it's any good.

If it was my system I would upgrade the graphics card and add a DVD rewriter.

I bought a Mesh pc about 3 years ago and have had no real problems at all. I've heard there customer service is terrible but I've been so happy with the pc I ordered a new one from them yesterday. It was £699 inc. vat:

If you are going to be playing the latest games or digital photos you need a far better graphics card, any graphics card that shares or is on the mother board is going to slow the whole thing down because it is using the main processor to work things out. get an independent graphics card like ati9800 pro or x800 or nvidia 6800 etc these can run on their own without draining your processor.

Also most new pc's nowadays ship with dvd burners handy if you are putting digital video onto disk. do you own a camcorder? or if you are copying dvd's etc (illegal though!)

Although Mesh make good spec Pcs at a reasonable price - I bought a Mesh in 2000 but am scarred for life by my experiences with their aftersales "service", I also vowed I would never buy Mesh again.

Did you buy it? I got my second Mesh PC today and so far so good!

I bought a comp from MESH a number of years ago. After initial problems with late delivery the machine was fine. It came with 3 yrs onsite warranty and during this time the HDD failed. They actually allowed me to remove the faulty hdd myself and return it for replacement which was great as I had installed a 2nd drive and wasn't without the machine.

Good thing about MESH is that you don't invalidate warranties by opening the back up. (Better to check if this is still the case though!).

I build my own now but if I was ever in the market for a ready made machine I would certainly consider MESH again.
