A bird in the hand????? i-phone ebay question

Hi - I'm upgrading my I-phone 3gs 16gb to an i-phone 4 at the end of the week. The shop that i'm buying my i-phone 4 (a well known shop but not sure if i'm allowed to say the name) have said that they will buy the 3GS back for £140. - Now there are i-phone 3GS's listed on e-bay that have completed in excess of £280 - and that are in worse condition than mine - ie mine (due to having always been in a very sturdy cover and screen protector) is in mint condition. However I'm extremely worried about getting 'scammed' on e-bay - is there any 100% way of preventing this. I've heard about the obvious ways - ie recorded delivery, recording serial numbers/model numbers etc - but is anything !00% fool proof or should I just accept the guarenteed £140 no risk option??? Sorry for the long rambling post :o

The same question in another thread today, https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3237196
One thing with what you said, do not use recorded delivery. It has to be special delivery.

hi - thanks hermum - I read that thread before I posted mine but I wasn't sure if I could put something in the description along the lines of absolutely no returns - or even list it as cash on collection only? - Something guarenteed to not go wrong lol:o

No returns is pointless & could put off a lot of decent bidders. If a case is opened for SNAD then the chances are you would lose it.
    Set your buyer requirements tight.
If you want cash on collection advertise it locally, not on ebay.
Have you seen how much you could get for it from the phone selling places., http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/mobile-recycling
