Sky Visa Card

Hi
Has anyone got the number for Sky visa card or better still some advise. Two years ago I agreed a settlement figure with them ( approx £4000 ) and paid it in full but despite three phone calls to remind them I never recieved confirmation. I have now applied for a mortage which was turned down due to an unpaid debt ( Not Possible ). To make it worse I have now recieved a letter from a debt collectors chasing me for this debt I have paid. My bank does not show statements that far back ( 2009 ). I cannot find anyone to help so maybe someone out there can??
Please

UPDATE:
Thank you to all you kind people who offered advise. I have managed to get a copy of my statement proving a payment of £2903.82(Very exact amount)and have passed it on to the capquest debt company who kindly sent me a letter today explaining how the baliff would take everything from my home and sell it cheap to clear my debt. Nice.
Thanks to all again and any advise welcome now as not sure whether to get a solicitor or just wait until court and take my proof.
Feel better but sad that capquest can bully people and get away with it, a bit like clampers really.

Order the back statements from your bank - there'll be a charge ... but ... better than no evidence!

Do you have confirmation of their settlement offer in writing? If not - you might have an uphill struggle convincing anyone that you did agree the figure and didn't just send them £4000 out of the kindness of your heart.

Wasn't the Sky card run by Barclaycard??

Also somebody could point me right here but I think it'd be cheaper to go via a Data Protection access request and pay the £10 charge for all your data rather than £5 to £10 for each copy statement???

There are 3 credit reference agency, the 2nd main one being Equifax and Callcredit, which is by far the smallest of the 3.

Some companies only report to one and not all.

If Sky is/was run by Barclaycard as the underwriters, it would depend on who Barclaycard report to.

It could be that even though they accepted a settlement offer, it was also marked that way on your file. I assuming here the account was in default, which while marked as settled was still a default and the full amount owed wasn't paid back.

it will have been marked as a partial settlement and the remainder sold off to a debt collection agency.

    this is common practice
