Buyer Problem- ebay claim...

Been selling some bits and pieces on the bay, sent an item and the buyer has stated that in the envelope they received was just the instructions when there should have been the item, instructions in the box.

I packed this item, posted it, uploaded the tracking info and the second message message I got when I said that I had posted in complete was:

hope you not thinking I am trying to do one over on you I think my feedback score shows i am trust worthy when I opened the package all there was in the envelope was an information leaflet

I know for a fact the item was complete when I sent it on Thursday.
I asked her to return everything and I would refund but she's said she wouldnt, however she's now opened an 'item incomplete' case and as part of that must return what she has.

Thing is, I know I didnt send an incomplete item out..

Any thoughts?

J

Either she's having you over or it was lost somewhere in transit.
I suspect you'll have to take the hit and then claim with royal mail

Why wouldn't she return the envelope etc? You may need that if the parcel has been opened during post.

    Was there sign of tampering?

    What was the value ?

Seems a bit odd she won't return the instructions etc

I agree, if items have been lost in transit, you need original packing back- I would imagine RM would want this if you are making a claim
    :DPlease, pretty please!:D

Well, she's put the claim in now, but she sent me this last thing last night as I'd queried that all was inthe envelope was the instructions:

Yeah just the info sheet folded up in the envelope the parcel didn't look like it had been opened in anyway but I will have a word with the postman and my partner works for royal mail so will have a word

She's returning the instructions (as I'd asked her to do anyway) as part of the dispute. I thought I'd just refund her today, but i cant because of the dispute now.

Next question, will the payment be refunded as soon as she puts in the tracking number in the dispute, or when I confirm I receive/sign for it? (only because the majority of recorded stuff I get just gets put through the door without being signed fo...)

You can refund upon receipt via the original paypal transaction...however paypal will refund once the dispute has been escalated and tracking number has been inputed.

If you decide to refund once you have it back then make sure you enter onto the dispute that you have refunded but only via the original transaction or they will not recgnise the fact you have refunded

    Thanks for all the replies.

Just galls me slightly in that I know everything was in the envelope and that it wasnt (as she confirmed) tampered with before it got to her.

Its the principal, not the money..
