Bullied into BT vision when moved home

I am having an on-going saga with BT and would appreciate any advice.

I recently used BTs home move service when I moved into a new rented flat. I was initially told that this wouldn't be a problem or cost anything if the equipment was all there. I assured them it was (my friend had lived in flat before me but disconnected BT about 4 months previous, buf had no trouble with anything up until then) I was told that their records showed that I would need and engineer visit Nd this would cost me £130 , but if I took out BT Vision then it would only cost £30 for connection fee an I would get ESPN as part of this (rather partial to sport me) I grudgingly agreed and also reduced the my contract from option 3 to 1 to keep costs down.

On day of activation I recieved a text 30 minutes into my appointment period (having taken time off work) telling me that the engineers records.showed that they wouldn't need to visit as all the equipment was in place - to quote "good news you don't have to wait in for us"

J am extreamely frustrated as I could have retained my old contract rather than being tied in for 18 months and now have a worse service with something I don't want.

Waiting for a response to my complaint, but just feel exploited and lied to.

PS just tried BT vision for first time and not impressed with this either.... Not worth it as everything I can get from it I could get previously when I had unlimited broardband.

Does anyone have similar experience or advice on who else I can complain about mis-selling to

Thanks!

Sorry but I wouldn't class that as being bullied into having it, they offered you a reduced connection fee if you took BT Vision. You accepted that offer.

But he only took it under the understanding he would have to pay £130 for an install. As it turns out he didnt need an engineer afterall

Cooling off period ? Phone in be put through to cancx and get it removed because you are unsatisfied and say you feel you were missold due to the circustances in the OP.

If not ian.livingston@bt.com is the CEO's email adress or make an official complaint to customer relations.
