ICESAVE - How long?!

Anyone tell me how long it takes to open one of these accounts!? Been over 2 weeks now and haven't even got my application pack, then I got to send the cheque off etc, then get my log in details, then wait for my password etc.
Took my one week to open a Cahoot account from start to finish!
Do they not want to take on any more accounts or something? I'm just sitting here waiting and waiting for the postman to shove something through the letterbox.
I did do an application when it first opened, but because I didnt send a cheque in time they closed the account.
Might be higher interest, but only if you can get it! My reckoning might be about 2 months until I start earning interest?!

Walk away. <Snip>
EDIT: On second thoughts I managed to get someone to explain the non payment of interest on my account (see separate thread).
I'll reserve judgement for now, but the internet facility is reasonably user friendly and it looks like a good account if you persevere.0 -
No, don't walk away - try calling them preferably in the evening and talk to someone there. There was a problem with mine which they sorted out and it's working fine now.0

I have applied for an account but haven't sent the cheque yet. How long do they give you to send the cheque in?0 -
Hi,
I applied for the account this past saturday, I recieived my welcome pack and user details this past Tuesday. The account is up and running. I asked for my initial transfer to be done via DD which will probably take a week or so as I recieved confirmation of my DD mandate yesterday.
Give them a call and see what the status of your account is.0 -
It took two days from online application to recieving my loggin details and dd confirmation by post:jLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

I've set up my initial DD fine when I applied but that is just my FD current account and I want to transfer directly from my Birmingham Midshires Savings account - to minimise loss of interest - so I sent the second DD mandate form early last week - you can have more than one but you have to extra ones by post only it seems - still hasn't appeared yet for use.-0
