I have just been uprated to up to 8gb and have done a couple of speed checks and it is coming back at 5733 kbps download and 383 Kbps upload is this good? I am about 1 mile from the BT exchange

i think you mean 8mb or probably up to 8mb so you're speeds are fine0

better than i had when i upgraded; ive been rate adapted down to 128kb atm

you'll prob find the speed varies at different times of the day and in the first 10 days they're seeing what speed your line can do and so after 10 days it may get better or worse (in my case) or stay the same.0 -
Did they quote what the max down and up speeds offered. Your download speed is approx 5.7mb which is pretty good for an 8mb line. But without knowing what the best upload is, it's hard to guess0

Disconnect your router for an hour then log back on. You may be able to retrain your line this way. Worked for me.Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......0 -
my isp suggeted rebooting twice a day to retrain i assume but it doesnt hold the connection all of this time so like this morning it was synced at 700! although it went up to 5888 when i rebooted.0
