Child savings account

Hi there looking for a bit of advice. Currently got a Nationwide child's savings account paying .75%, which is really poor. I've seen the Halifax deal which pays 6%. However, it appears that you can only save by regular installments up to a set amount. I would like to shift the entire balance away from Nationwide into a higher rate account, but there doesn't appear to be any accounts out there that you can do this with.

See the usual comparison sites for childrens' savings accounts, e.g.:

Thanks for the reply Baldur - very useful. I think I may open a Halifax account for regular savings for a year and shift the Nationwide balance to Northern Rock. Best of both worlds. Thanks again for the pointers.0 -
Why not look at Bath Buidling Society's children's account? Pays 5% on the first £500 and then 1.1% on the rest. My children just have £500 in theirs! The rest is in C&G accounts.0
