agree with all of the above, does your son want a mum that stands with binoculars at the school gates at lunch time, comfort him and help him to understand that it did hurt however you will help to equip him with strategies for bullying, if and when it happens.0

I got my tooth chipped when I was 10/11 and it was one of my adult tooth. And the sub teacher said it was only my baby tooth and my dad said no its not its his adult tooth. Should have sued the school. But schools dont care, but at less it was his baby tooth and not like my being ruid for the rest of my life. And it was the schools fault in my case because this girl pushed me and the school took no business in it.0

I would definitely not complain to the school - accidents happen..it could just as easily been your child that had caused an injury to another child - these things happen in the playground. When I was at school the P.E. apparatus collapsed while I was on them and I bit my tongue in half!......it was hanging off:eek: ...I know things were different then (30 years ago!) but my mum did not complain to the school or ask for compensation etc.....accidents happen (and usually to me!) It is upsetting that your child has chipped their tooth but the dentist will do his/her best to make it right - it really is not the end of the world ..is it ?I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0

I should write a letter to the Chairman of the Governors, saying what happenned, and that you are not happy with the Head's response to your complaint. Tell them that it wasn't too serious this time, but it COULD have been. Hopefully you'll get a better explanation and some action.
Hope this helps.0 -

why sue the school ? did you not get it sorted on the nhs ? ? I was in an accident at school messing around and i pushed a friend who lost her balance and she lost her front adult tooth. She has never once accused me, or tried to sue me or the school. Why is everything about sueing people now a days ? ?assuming your typing error means ruined ? why do you say you were ruined for the rest of your life ? ? ?0 -
I can sympathise, especially if you are now facing expensive dental bills. As a child I fell over an uneven paving slab and broke my 2 front teeth. A medical problem with the next two teeth has meant I have had to have all 4 teeth capped. I am now on my 2nd set of new front teeth and the only reason I didn't face a big dental bill last time is because I was on a maternity exemption certificate at the time.
I do think though you are going to have to accept this was an accident and just one of those things, was your son also playing basketball even though it is banned?0
