Anyone going to go against the grain and gamble that they will raise (or lower) rates?
Just read an article whereby people are so confident nothing is going to change as the BOE don't have it in them that they are starting to plan their financials around the new norm. Scary stuff, but thye may well be correct.

rates ain't going over 2%-3% for a very, very long time0

No change today. As the UK continues to crawl forward.0

FWIW, markets have been predicting that rates will rise 'soon but not now' for about 2 years now.
My gut feeling is that when rates rise they may do so quite a bit faster than many expect. There's no rule that says that the BoE has to raise rates by 0.25% each time, in fact if you look at the BoE's history, changes of 1% or more are normal.0 -

Yep, same here. I've long said, the longer we carry on doing nothing, the quicker we will have to change things when we do do something.
However, we do seem to have a mindset of kicking the can. And no one is really bothered about later. Just now.0 -

Are there any bookies offering decent odds on a no rate rise, because I might even bet my house on the fact that there will be no change.
That's how confident even a steady eddie no risk taker is.0 -
