Am awaiting someone to come and collect (and pay for) some Ebay items. My husband is not happy that I am selling them, but doesn't seem to get that it hurts me too. They are my items and it's my debt, but even though I know I'm doing the right thing, I now feel bad about selling my stuff, and bad about making him feel bad. Sometimes I feel there is no fun on this debt free journey! Top that off with reading a post about being a bad no-money mum - yet another of my woes, and I feel like sobbing. Eastenders is about to come on, so you can guarantee that will add to my misery quota for the day!! Think I might have to search the cupboards and find myself something chocolatey!:)

I do feel for you, I dont know how many times I have felt like my back is up against the wall - you have to take your pleasures where you can when times are really tough. I go to work with the car radio blasting and singing as loud as I can (thats 1 pleasure) feeling the warmth of the sun (is another pleasure) snuggling under the duvet when the rain is lashing (is another pleasure) and they dont cost a penny :T Taking my head out of the sand has been my saviour I feel great and may your time will come some xxLBM March 2011 (what on earth took me so long?)overdraft (1) -2950 overdraft (2) -246.00total CC £12,661 :eek:loan £5000DFD 2016:eek::eek: (cant come soon enough)0

They are only 'things' getting rid of yur debt will give you a far better feeling than things.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Eastenders is utter tripe so you can start improving how you feel by not watching that and doing something more useful/interesting/fun/productive instead.0

I think we've all felt how you feel. Trust in yourself that you are doing the right thing and give yourself a 'free' treat as a reward for getting rid of the other things, e.g. watching the soaps, eating that choccy bar, a hot soak in the bath, a cuddle with someone you love, etc. Things will get better and you are on the right track. I admire your strength of mind and determination.0

Ok first way to depress yourself is sitting through an episode of Eastenders that is a sure way although i am amazed how they all manage a trip to the Queen Vic with (a) all moaning day time of no money and (b) kids at home, do they leave them alone as on the square or hire a babysitter and would you leave your kids with either the above situation when so many murderers etc live in a small vicinity, anyway other than that dont worry about the money worries just put the kids to bed and go down the local that will cheer you up :rotfl:0

Have some chocolate, and have a cry if it makes you feel better, and have a virtual hug from me. :grouphug:
Once you've got rid of the debt, you'll feel a lot happier. Well done you for tackling it! :T:)0 -
Show your husband this thread.
Perhaps the clot would then realise you are a life partnership and his role is to offer help, support and positive criticism.
Heck, he could even take some responsibility for his family's finances and try to earn extra money to sort out the debt.0 -
Focus on the time you will be debt free & what you will do to celebrate.
Also stop watching deadenders:DTry to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
