I recently had time to health check myself and 1 of my 2 car policies seemed high. This policy is my No 2 policy and so I cannot claim full NCD. I am trying to build up NCD on that as well. Policy with Swinton.
I'm sure all the answers are on the web somewhere but you guys seem to know the answers .. so. (I'm not sure where to post this as the topic covers areas linked to other financial products)
My confused points are in red.
1. Got a 2nd quote from first policy insurers (DLine) and with multi discount it was £30 pcm cheaper. Approached Swinton and said if they can quote me about £15 cheaper then I will stay.
2. Swinton said 'not possible' and if I do change mid term then it is a £50 fee from them and another £50 fee from the insurers. This was not told to me at inception but on the small print it does mention the Swinton fee but not the insurers fee.
3. I noticed on the terms when just glancing through that if I had ever used the 14 day cooling period then they also charge £50 fee.
Is that normal ?
4, I also noticed that if paying by DD pcm over 10 months then on the 11th month they take another payment as a ''renewal deposit''. This is refunded if I do not renew !!! Now going thro' bank statements. Is that normal ?
5. On renewal Swinton do check other quotes but if I am changing every year then I am having a snag building up the NCD. OR am I ? If I am paying Swinton then does the NCB link to them or the various insurers.
Any ???
