How to package up clothes

Hi all,

After reading some stories on here about people receiving clothes they have bought off eBay just wrapped in a plastic bag which has been ripped in the post, I wondered what would be the best way to send a dress in the post?

I was thinking of putting it in a large jiffy bag (it's a long dress but thin material) - would that give adequate protection?

Thanks
Kate

I don't sell clothes but would not send them in a mailbag if I did. Jiffy sounds good but I would also be inclined to use some tissue paper too if the dress is delicate. Make sure you label the parcel clearly including your returns addresss.

I rarely sell clothes anymore, far too many problems. However when I do I use plastic mailers and have never had an issue. I double bag like a catalogue company would., thinner bag inside then it all placed in the mailer.

The only packaging that I have ever received damaged, and on many occasions, has been brown paper.

I buy lots of clothes on ebay, and find it fine if they're ironed, then folded in a NICE plastic bag (i.e. clothes shop one - better quality!), then placed in a plastic mail bag.

DO NOT use brown paper, as it ALWAYS rips, regardless of what's inside! Useless stuff!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Most of the clothes I buy comes just in the plastic mailers & there's never been any problems with it.
I never expect anything to be ironed, it always gets washed before I wear them anyway, so it's a waste of time in my opinion.
