Today's eBay Genius Entrepreneur Thread..

This little bear...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370504104903&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Has been listed at least twice with no bids on either occasion.

So what does the seller do?

Relists it, again, with a BIN price £10 higher.

Genius...

One day Rodney........

Not too dumb actually, I've seen that work before. Some buyers won't purchase an item if its too cheap, they think there's something wrong with it. Up the price and they buy it.

Depends, there is an identical one also listed with a BIN of £29.99 which has been relisted a few times as well...

I don't think Donald Trump's double bluff is going to work on this occasion.....

I do wonder sometimes with these multiple relists if people think that all relists are free? Wouldn't you just stop wasting money otherwise after a while and give up?

That explains why eBay Einstein's price has gone up then, to cover the wastage.

Just before Christmas I was contacted by someone about a huge ebay bill when they assured me, they hadn't sold anything. Turned out that someone unspecified had told them all listing was free, despite the charges being clearly shown when you list...and they had believed it. had listed a dozen items over and over again for 3 weeks before the fee hit...nasty. Luckily it had bene capped at £15 otherwise I think they would have just carried on until it ran into hundreds.

Different prices suit different market. Some people buy stuff from overseas for its price and some buys for reliability local service and would pay higher
