Does anyone know what era this might be from?

Is it 1920's? It's a brooch. I'd like to know which jewellery category to put it in on ebay. The crystals in strands are free moving.

I'm wondering how much it might be worth.

Hello, it's impossible for anyone to say how much your item is worth without knowing a bit more about it. For instance is it glass and base metal or platinum and diamonds? Are there any sort of marks on it. If it's precious metal of any sort it should have a hallmark which will include a date letter, and it would be better to sell through a jewellers or at an auction. If costume jewellery then Ebay is okay, there may still be a makers mark on it that can make the date easier to find out and may affect the value.

I'm no expert but it looks more late Victorian or Edwardian rather than so 1890's onwards, the top picture looks to be the correct way to wear it.

There appear to be a couple of stones missing you would need to point this out in your description or try to find some spares.

I sell quite a bit of vintage jewellery on various platforms and it rarely makes much. Assuming it is all just metal and fake gems , if you market it well, and accounting for the damage you may be lucky to get a tenner for it.

Pembroke is absolutely right though, just make sure it isn't hallmarked before you list it at a pound or two as 'costume'.

You can buy jewellery just like this in the shops now, it's become really fashionable again, but it can be bought really cheaply now in places like Primark. I don't think you'll sell it as there are stones missing. I'd start it at 99p.
  • my guess would be that its from the 40's or 50's.

There are quite a few on ebay of that era, some are quite lovely and i am getting itchy bidding fingers!

This one might be worth watching to see what it ends at:

This one ended at £3.63 but it is perfect and it is boxed

There are no stones missing. That'll be the camera. One of the stones is a bit yellowed. It's not hallmarked and is just glass and base metal (silvertone?)

    Thanks for the advice :)
