Been approached

As I was struggling with a loan I saw an advertisment whilst out in town yesterday that pretty much asked if you were struggling with repayments and wanted something more compressed and stretched out.

Gave them a ring, they said they'll pay off my loan;

Current loan - 32 weeks loan off £1000 at 50% which is £46 a week.

They said they'll restructure my payments onto a 48 week contract at 20% for £37.50 a week.

Would you accept?

A week ago you posted that you had a £75 loan and worries over meeting the £5 a week cost. Now it's £1,000. How did that happen?

Rather than messing about with changing loans every 5 minutes I suggest you work hard on managing your finances better. Get over to the Debt free Wannabe part of the forum and get help with budgeting.

By the way, the interest rates you quote are pure fantasy if they are meant to be APRs.

Current loan = £1,472 to pay back (my APR estimate is around 160%)
New loan = £1,800 to pay back (my APR estimate is above 200%)

Yeh! It really is as simple as that to get rid of debt. Maybe it is this way of thinking which is helping you on your way to disaster.

There is nobody who will get you out of this debt, apart from you.

    Q. Why do you think these clowns were advertising?
    A. To make money out of you.

The sharks are having a feeding frenzy out there..anyone who dare tells me all is well out there must be mad..its chaos..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    No.

All they want is to make money out of you.

    Another thing...

If YOU rang THEM then you have hardly "Been approached"

You have just applied for another sub prime loan, that is all.

With the username "InDebtByThousands" that sounds really sensible......

    Run, InDebtByThousands, run quite fast...

Steer well clear of these people. £46 per week?!?! That is around £198 PER MONTH that you will be paying to these people, to try and get yourself out of a pickle. Please stop and think about it.

If you cannot afford to meet your financial commitments PLEASE go to the Citizens' Advice Bureau (or to one of the relevant threads on this site's forum) and explore your alternative options - before throwing yourself to these vultures and getting yourself in an even worse fix to the one you're probably in now.

    Good luck to you. x

    They are a numerous family...

As Paul Merton said of the "Great" One: Have a look in the pension fund and there's a big, fat, Czech missing... ;)

    A worthless, bouncing Czech?

Some say that he killed himself when the balance of his mind was temporarily unimpaired, while others point to startling similarities to the owners of an American plumbers' merchants.
