visa electron card?

I have a Halifax cardcash account which I never use, it was opened years ago when the Halifax was a building society.
Amount in that account 6p
I just received, in the post today, a new card to use with that account.
It says that it is a Visa Electron card.
So does it have any advantage over my Visa debit card?
I normally pay for everything using a cash back credit card.

Good for booking Easyjet flights (think it's Easyjet, rather than Ryan Air, from memory), as they charge for using any other type of card.
<Edit> Yes, see http://www.easyjet.com/en/Book/paymentoptions.htmlNew bookings
All bookings will incur a £8.00 booking fee except for bookings made by Visa electron and Carte Bleue (domestic transactions only) which are free. Bookings made by Visa Credit Card, MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express, UATP/Airplus will incur an additional fee of 2.5% of the total transaction value, with a minimum charge of £4.95, whichever is greater.0 -
Visa Electron is more widely accepted now than say a few years ago, but still not the same as Visa Debit cards are - You will find some places simply do not accept it.
As Baldur has said, most people only open the Easycash account for the Visa Electron card simply to book flights online without the added fees!David
£1 of debt is too much for me!0 -
electron is OK for booking flights and using it
virtually same as debit but i believe its for 'electronic use only' so needs to call for funds (i.e. i think you cant use @ pay at pump whilst debit you can)0
