Chimney work quote

I live in a mid terrace house and have received a quote to repoint my chimney, replace some frost fractured bricks in the chimney stack using an angle grinded, replace the lead flashing and also to have the wooden fascia replaced around a small loft extension window (about 10ft in total). I have paid to have the scaffolding erected for some other work I am doing so the two builders will be using a ladder to reach the chimney from the top of the scaffolding.

Does £550 sound like a fair quote?

Other than not knowing where you live or the size of the chimney it's probably an ok price.

I live in Bristol and the builder has now advised the repointing will cost more but not sure of how much yet. The chimney is approx 18" deep x 45" high x 36" wide

Probably sounds fair. We are getting our chimney redone (render taken off and replaced, as well as flashing redone), and we have been quoted £420, which includes scaffolding. We are in a bungalow if that makes any difference.
