Buyer wants to return a faulty item

Hey guys,

I sold someone a powersupply for a computer. I got paid, shipped it, they left me positive feedback. I assumed all was well. I'm not a shop or anything, just upgraded mine and sold the old one.

Message from them today saying that it is actually faulty. It was fine when it left my hands.

The only thing I can think to do is: Buyer pays postage to return the item to me; if I find it to be faulty, then I'll refund everything (leaving me out of pocket!); if I find it to work correctly - then I guess he can pay to have it shipped back?

I've honestly never had this problem before.

Obviously, I want the item back BEFORE I issue a refund or anything - don't want to be without the product AND my money!

Any help would be much appreciated,
Regards,
Chris

Yes you are entitled to refund after receiving the item. However, why it is found to be faulty after feedback is left? Sure it had been tested before feedback is left, isnt

You would think so, wouldn't you.

I did however notice that it was a completely different eBay name that was contacting me! Different addresses, different usernames.

So I said he is more than welcome to contact me on the winning eBay user name if he has multiple accounts.

I suspect he just contacted the wrong person!

And now I can relax again.
