Seller appealing Paypal decision

Hi all

I bought and received a faulty item and after great advice on here I opened a paypal dispute, followed the instructions, sent it back to the seller (at a cost of £12 ) and Paypal found in my favour and refunded my payment.

The seller has now appealed this decision. Does anyone know what will happen or any advice? I don't want to be left without the money or the item (which at best I could have resold as faulty on ebay for a small amout back).

Any advice? Thanks

  • Well wait untill you have the results of their decision. If it goes against you, sue them if the amount owed is big enough.. They dont usually do court, it attracts too much attention to all their faults.

I've just had the same situation where a seller appealed against a Paypal decision in my favour. The seller must be able to provide proof against your claim. In my case the seller lost their appeal as they couldnt provide any extra concrete evidence. Paypal didn't inform me if this, I just found out from looking at my account. It would have been useful for Paypal to keep me upto date with what was happening.

Thanks Sue, its the same for me, I have not had any notification, I only know from looking at the account. I suppose I am worried that the seller will say the item has been broken by me or something, I already know the seller is not the most honest person when she happily sold a faulty item so I don't really trust her not to lie!

    Thanks for your experience.

Oh also, do you know how long it took for Paypal to make the decision on the appeal?
