1/2 a tin of tomatoes for 4 people? i thought most people bulked out spag bol and the like with a couple of tins of toms

do you add any liquid to this, as it seems a bit dry to me

i freeze my mince and make spag bol in the slow cooker so i find the tomatoes i don't dry out all that much, i bulk mine out with the carrots/peas and sweetcorn my hubbys not keen on a strong tomatoe taste anyway (i add a spoonful of honey aswell mines the only spagbol/chilli he likes), you'd be suprised how far this stretches i've feed 3 adults and 3 kids with leftovers before, if i'm short i mix it threw the pasta rather than setting it on top

oh and i use pasta shapes because the kids cope better with them

also i tend to look out for reduced mince so it costs slightly less, it present i have 18 portions in my freezer all bought reduced

i do some meals that are cheap, but would struggle to make a meal every night for this amount of money

We tend to eat fish a coupleof times a week and this isnt a cheap meal, although I do look out for offers. I buy frozen Tuna from Aldi you get about 4 bits for £3 but this would blow your budget and also their bags of frozen salmon.

I am feeding 2 big eaters so know that a 4 portion meal would only feed the two of them
