Ipo

Hi guys i currently have a stocks and shares isa with iii and a halifax sharedealing account with halifax (so technically they are both with halifax)

anyways i am looking to particpate in the glencore ipo and was curious how i would go about doing this? also how much it would cost (in comission not actual price)

i have also never participated in an ipo, so how will it work? do i say i want to buy X amount of shares OR do i say i want to buy £xxx worth of shares?

any advice or past experience in the process would be helpful specifically in regards to iii and halifax. (also with an ipo within a stocks and shares isa....)

(please let me know if this is the incorrect place to be posting this)

best regards

Plunt

If it's a public offer (IPO), there's no commission for buying the shares.

I also don't believe that you can buy directly in an ISA unless the broker managing the IPO offers it. You would need to buy the shares into your ISA on the first day of issue but that would attract normal ISA dealing costs.
