whilst I can understand how some people will struggle to raise the fees, I think it may be worthwhile reminding those thinking of petitioning for BR, that the 'raiding' of overdraughts, or cards, for cash, for the purposes of raising the fees, has in the past, been tacitly overlooked by OR's.

Might be worth planning ahead with this 'option' in view?

But what happens if those avenues are closed? most of the trust fund applications i've gone through with clients recently have been refused for various reasons...then what?

I suppose it will be a case of enduring the phone calls for even longer, before finally petitioning for BR?

After all, the most difficult hurdle for someone in debt to overcome surely is, the actual decision to go BR?

Once that has been decided, then creditor pressure becomes almost pointless.....

The acceptance of BR as the only solution provides the strength.

So the 'saving' goes on for a bit longer?

    What other solution is there?

thats a shame, they only put it up fairly recently as well.
Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten

    :mad::mad::mad:

    Just not acceptable.

This, along with all the other 'kick the bankrupt' recent changes is, in my opinion, appauling.

    Thanks to Fermi, as always.

The court fee by £25 this month.

This, OR's deposit, was hiked by £90 a year ago.

I notice that someone elsewhere has commented that:
The Insolvency Service has advised that the latest fee rise is fair as the debtors should pay more back to their creditors and be responsible for their debts.

Yeah right,The IS (the government) get their fee (around £1750) paid first, often it is only the BR deposit that partially pays this cost. Its got nothing to do with doing the best for creditors and everything to do with doing the best for the Treasury. (as you know Fermi:D)
