Pay pal and lost login and change of bank card

For the last hour or so I have been trying to pay for my 1st item I have won on ebay.
I tried to log into Paypal to make the payment, only to realise that I have forgotten my password. (its so long since I used it)
So I ticked the relevant box and I got a email saying I could change my password.
So I went to change it, but then it asked for my bank card.
I entered the number (knowing that I have recently got a new one) and found that it is not known by their system. I cannot remember my old number and the bank will not give it out.
I have tried talking to the on line help for pay pal and found they are awful. They keep saying they don’t understand me. I have been given the number of customer service but thats going to be a international call.
Does anyone know how I can get into my account? I will be able to answer the secret question or tell them the name of my bank.
Thanks for your help.

Any registration confirmation emails to give you the last few digits of the card and allow you to find that card?
Find the paypal email address from your email as you may have the password but the paypal email address is wrong?
Try email them and they will respond within 24 hours.0 -
Thanks. That might help. I will look through my emails.
I ended up ringing Pay pal. Gee, what a rubbish service.
I offered to disclose the name of my bank or answer my secret question.
Rather than respond to me, she just went quite and pretended that she was not there.
Well assuming, that she did not die etc. (It did not sound like I had been cut off).
My experience with pay pal has been so bad that I really feel reluctant to get involved with them. As a result I have paid for my first ebay bid with my debit card.
I do however have a few questions for people who have more experience:
1. Do you always pay by pay pal, if so why?
2. Have you found, if there is a problem that pay pal sorted it out. And therefore would tell me that it is still the best way to pay.
Thank you.Cute Mouse:j0
