Please help a girl in need!!!!

Hi guys,

I sold a sky+ hd box on ebay, had all the box, remote and leads (which it was obviously advertised with) a lady won the auction and as i was about to package it up i noticed that the remote is missing. OH tells me my daughter had been playing with it while i was in work GRRRR! So i messaged the lady who won (and had already paid via paypal) and told her the situation and offered a refund, to which she accepted.

Stupid idiots paypal have placed some kind of hold on the funds so now i cant refund her the money and it wont accept my credit card as it expires the end of this month and i havent received the new one, stress!!

Can someone advise me what the best course of action would be? I think if i said this to the buyer they would think it was a load of old tripe and i was trying to rip them off... i feel awful! :(

Has the buyer opened a claim with Paypal or Ebay ? That may be why the funds have been frozen.

I don't really know much about ebay and paypal but I have an open dispute with a seller and a nice person on here advised me to call Paypal and they were very helpful, so I would suggest giving them a call.

If you are new to using paypal then they hold he amounts for a certain number of days (21 I think) or until positive feedback is left. However you should still be able to click on the amount and then refund it I think.
  • Thanks for your replies! However iv realised why it wont let me refund the amount!! A buyer has opened a case against me (see my other thread) and the funds from that transaction are being held which have taken me into a negative balance grrrr!!!!

Do you have a friend/relative who could 'lend' you some money via paypal until you can get the case sorted so that you can refund?
