You need to contact the DWP and ask for a form to tax the car (Not sure on the rules that face you) but if you get HRM or WPMS, you can tax the car for free, you take the form along with the MOT, Insurance etc to the post office (First time you also need your V5, as they will take it off you and you'll be issued a new one from DVLA, and the taxation class will change to disabled on it) I think that there are rules about a carer getting the free tax disc, so, you'll need to verify that you can claimOpinions are like bottoms - We all have one, just some stink more than others
Service Attributable Pension - War Pension - War Pensioners Unemployability Supplement - War Pensioners Invalidity Allowance - War Pensioners Comforts Allowance - War Pensioners Mobility Allowance - War Pensioners Child Allowance - Housing Benefit - Council Tax Benefit0 -
The tax disc can only be used on a vehicle that is for the direct benefit of the disabled person..i.e. a carer cannot use it for getting to and from work etc.
I checked a couple of weeks ago with DVLA.0 -

Your dad can get a DLA 403 form [ Application from Exemption from road tax ] and sign it, that entitles him to a DLA 404 form [ Certificate of Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance ] issued to him. On the top RHS of the form will be a Serial Number particular to him enabling him to nominate you / a particular car registration number !
Your starting point would be :
Contact the agency below and ask for exemption certificate and how to proceed.
