I attended the ESA medical 5 weeks ago and have had no response at yet. Just wondered is that normal?

hi my oh got his report back about three weeks after the medical give it another week and phone them for an update about your claim

If you call 08456088757 its the benefits enquiry help line. They may be able to tell you if a decision has been made. I phoned after 3 weeks and they told me straight away and the paperwork followed a couple of days later.

I rang today and was told I would receive the decision in writing probably before the DWP do? So I am none the wiser. Thanks anyway

I was also told this - specifically about my medical report.
I can only surmise it's poor training.

Of course you can't get it before the DWP - it's the DWP that decide on your case.
The ATOS report is only one bit of evidence, it can be (but almost never is) utterly ignored by the DWP when making an award.

Yes I thought that was an odd response as it was the DWP that sent me. We don't have Atos here yet, today I received a letter to a work focused interview and still no word on my capability assessment.
