Northern Rock variable rate

With Northern Rock variable rate accounts (the ISAs in particular) are they fairly good at avoiding unexpected big drops in interest rates or not?

NR will give you 2 months notice of any reduction in interest rates.
Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place

With the Government about to auction NR it is unlikely to reduce its rates too much. A bank with no customers won't attract many bids!

What happens after it is sold off is anyone's guess.
