hi
sold something on ebay and was very please with what it sold for (£14.51 + £8.00 pp) the buyer is about 30 mins away so I emailed asking if they were going to collect or if they wanted it posting they replied with
have won the bid for the ****
Just feel a little dissapointed as soon after I placed my maximum bid I found a brand new one in John Lewis for 18 pounds.
Would you agree to relisting your ******?
If not.. please advise your home address and convenient time for collection. I will pay cash on collection. I travel into ****** about once every two weeks.
now i actually don't want to. i think, tough you bid you should pay. but i'm not actually that horrible, i don't want a row and if they collect i will have to actually 'see' them which makes it worse. but if i relist it its possible that my children (think of the poor children!!!) might not have the money to take on holiday with them on the 8th april!
how would you reply?

Ask them for your fees & a small token payment to a charity for wasting your time.
I have bought stuff & thought why did i bid that much, But i did so i pay up.
Usually i know what its worth and stick to that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
You might not need to relist if there's another buyer you can make a second chance offer to. I'd be tempted to ask the winning bidder to pay the final value fees though before agreeing to cancel his contract.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0

I always feel that it is never a good idea to contact the buyer before sending as it opens an opportunity for them to quibble or cancel the order. It is also a bit risky suggesting collection in person if they have paid by Paypal as there is a risk of them subsequently opening an INR dispute.
Hope you sort it all out.0 -
You did ask them if they wanted to collect, maybe say that it would have to be collected within 3 days or such and you will accept the £14.51 in cash (just in case they decide to try to negotiate). That way you have time to make a second chance offer (if there's any other bidders). What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

At least the buyer has been honest and not given the usual - 3 month old baby bid by mistake - excuse. I would be inclined to do a mutual cancel, there is no point forcing the issue or as others have said, take cash but for £14ish.0

thanked you for that posting only way is completely right on this one ;theres no point in getting upset over this ;0

Just ask them how much it will cost them to collect from John Lewis as your price plus postage might still work out cheaper once they've taken bus fares or parking / petrol costs into consideration. Also if they're going to mail order from John Lewis have they checked what their P&P is?0

They haven't paid yet, which is why i asked if they were collecting beofre i sent an invoice. (i know they could still pay without me sending one) and it sold on saturday and i hadn't heard anything.
oo what to do what to do!0 -
If they don't pay after 4 days open a NPB if they don't agree to a cancellation you lose your FVF's.
My last NPB turned down the cancellation & then sent me a long message about how disappointed she was that I'd opened a case & to cancel it. So I still had to pay the fees.0 -
I would cancel it and try to arrange a 2nd chance offer. A reluctant buyer can only really lead to more problems IMO.:www: :: MFi3 ::
