Stair lift installed today. Fantastic but did not realise how big the track is. The kids think it looks like a fairground ride, lol.

I know what you mean. We moved into a property that had been adapted for us and even though I knew we were getting a new stair lift I was amazed at just how big the track was. It's a bit of a pain for anyone who doesn't need to use it and I'm glad my son is all grown up now.
PS: Please make sure, if like ours it has charge points, when not in use you park it on one of the charge points. After being told we could leave it anywhere on it's track we parked it half way up the stairs, on a little landing, while work was being done in the wetroom and had to call out Social Services to fix it when it stopped working. Turned out we'd be told wrong and the battery had run flat.0 -
The ones Id seen before had a narrow track on so a bit of a shock to see the size of this. Our staircase is quiet wide so no problem there. At least my oh can go up and down the stairs now,in style,lol.0

I have a narrow staircase and was worried but the amount of room the rail would take up, but I was surprised how little it did.
What made of stairlift do you have and is it a single or duel track?
I was told duel track are thinner / slimmer but are higher, while a single track is thicker / bigger but is lower. I have a duel track.
I had 3 charging points fitter; at the top, bottom and another part way up.0
