Italy buyer - damaged item

My buyer in Italy has recieved parcel today, containing some subbuteo figures. He has contacted me to inform me that some of the figures are broken.

I have got a claim form from the RM but it states that I need to be able to send them the damaged items. As they are in Italy, I'm not sure what to do.

What do I offer my buyer? I packed them in a plastic bag and jiffy bag so thought they should have been ok - about 12 small figures.

  • not a good idea to pack fragile plastic figures in a jiffy bag, a box would have been better. You can ask him to return them and give a full refund on receipt or you could negotiate a partial refund with him based on the number of damaged figures against the total in the package.
If you get them back you can try claiming from the Royal Mail but they may not refund you if they consider the packaging not good enough.
If you go for the partial refund then you'll have to abandon any claim against the Royal Mail and take the loss
