How to tell if package was sent by express delivery? Amazon seller

I was hoping someone might know if it should be immediately evident if something was sent via 'express' post.
I bought something from an Amazon seller and paid extra to have it sent 'express (1-2 day)'. It was sent on Monday, and arrived late Friday afternoon. I've had standard post arrive sooner, but Amazon sellers are hit and miss. The parcel makes no mention of being express - just has a Royal Mail postage paid stamp on it.
Would it be fair to assume that the seller sent it standard post? Would the package have to say 'express' or such so that it would be sorted preferentially or however it works?
Thanks.

Sounds like first class post would be acceptable. You should be able to work out whether it was sent 1st or 2nd class.Delivery Expectations.
You must dispatch all orders within two business days of the purchase at the latest.
Standard Delivery
The buyer should receive their order within 3 to 5 business days after dispatch date.
Express Delivery UK
The buyer should receive their order within 1 business day after dispatch date.0 -

if you post a picture of the postage labels(no address!) then i will tell you for sure0 -
As stated I remember seeing that all expedited orders should be received by the buyer within one business day of dispatch, although a marketplace seller has two days to dispatch it. If dispatched on Monday then it should have arrived the next day.
I use Special Delivery for expedited orders on Amazon and I give priority to dispatching them quicker than standard items. 1st class is not a guaranteed service although I know some sellers use 1st for expedited but then many sellers use 1st for standard delivery. Other sellers may use couriers but I've always believed that a secure service must be used to comply with the delivery within one business day.
I would ask the seller to advise why the item was received four days after it was posted especially when you paid for expedited postage. How much extra did you pay for expedited above the seller's standard rate?0 -
Look like a first class stamp to me.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

Very kind of you, thanks:

That's all there was on it, minus an irrelevant shipping number up the top.
It was a mere £1.50 above the standard rate, which he has now refunded to me after I asked him to confirm which method was used. He was very quick to reply, and states that they had expedited the postage and would talk to RM. It would just be good not to have to take people at their word.
I find some Amazon sellers super speedy, while others I've had to chase for weeks sometimes.
nonsense,no such thing
The item was sent plain old 1st class0 -
As custardy says (he really is Mr Helpful so take note), this is normal first class post for a business user. So quite why they say they are going to talk to RM is beyond me, pulling the wool, can you report them to Amazon?0
