No claims fiasco!

Hi, please could someone offer me some advice.

I have just bought a car after being a named driver on my husbands car for 2 years.
I have never had an accident or made a claim but I have been informed by the company I have just taken my own policy out with that non of my no claims years count as they are over 24 months old. !!!!!!!!! Are they correct or is it just this companies stupid policy?
Not being able to count the 15+ years claim free driving plus a couple of claim free years as a named driver is madness and makes my premium very high.
Any advice gratefully received

Thank you

If that is their policy (NCD must be no older than 2 years) then look for a company (eg aviva) that will accept older! 2 years is the norm, though some are less (eg morethan - 12 months)

If you don't fancy aviva, see if a local broker can get you an introductory discount to reflect your driving history.
