Selling a house, what to do when survey is full of inaccuracies ?

This is the situation, my parents are currently selling there house, they have a cash buyer who has recently had a survey done. My parents have received a copy of the survey and it's full of inaccuracies. For example it states that the roof tiles are concrete (they aren't) and that they are not the original tiles (which they are). Additionally it says there are missing and broken tiles (this is incorrect). The survey goes on to list lots of other issues with the house (to the tune of £20k) now this is the thing, my dad is a builder / painter & decorator and the house is better maintained than most.

What can be done to dispute the survey which the buyers have privately commissioned ?

    They can't - it's nothing to do with them.

    However, they can point out all the inaccuracies to the buyer and state they're not prepared to negotiate on price. That might persuade the buyer to take some action.

    As JQ says. I would put all the inaccuracies in writing and suggest the buyer discuss thm with 'his' surveyor. If the surveyor has done a pofessionaly inept job, only his client (the buyer) can complain. He may, of course, think your parents are simply trying to get out of reducing the price.

    End of the day not much they can do.
