The neighbour owned the Sky box, it was his to do with as he wished.

If you are signing up with Sky as a new customer they should give you a new box.
  • no it was under my name the sky account and we phoned them up cause he wanted to take his box with him which i was happy for him to do because i dont really care about hd but then sky rang me and told me i needed the hd box or otherwise id get an early termanation fee for the hd package im spending over 100 pounds a month with them and thay cant even give me a new box for a cheaper price i just thing its wrong that 1 sky consutant tells me one thing and another 1 tells me something different

If it's in your name, how can the box belong to someone else?

Why is it wrong? You were using your neighbors Sky box which he needs to take with him to his new property. It's not Sky's fault you don't have a sky box.Existing Sky customers who upgrade often have to buy a Sky box depending on the offers at the time.I'm guessing that as Sky said you need a HD box as a primary one,you have multi-room so you possibly got a subsidized second box?..If so,that is why Sky will not give you a discounted Sky HD box, you've already had a subsidized box from them.
Why not buy one of E-Bay or a car boot sale?

Oh,and please use sentences, punctuation ect as your post's are just one long gibberish paragraph, that people like me who are dyslexic, find hard to read.

Are you saying that you let your ex-next door neighbour take YOUR Sky HD box away?

Are you within an initial contract period?

Have you read your actual contract with Sky?
  • yes i have read the contract but thay said to me on the phone that thay had cancelled the multiroom off my account. which was his room and that he could take the hd box with him but now im moving rooms tommorow, on the holiday camp i work at and ive been told i need a HD box. to be honest im not bothered about HD but thats what ive been told ive got to have

If you still have your viewing card, get a s/h replacement box for £30 and call Sky CD to have it paired with your existing card. Multiroom will end, but at least you'll have saved your money.

Am I right in thinking that the OP has been sharing a multiroom account across 2 separate dwellings (2 bedsits or similar)? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
