Return to sky on a budget

I recently left Sky but found Freeview reception unacceptable. What is the cheapest package I can get preferably using my own Sky equipment? Thanks Terry

You could always get a freesat box which should give you all the fta/ftv channels and is just a straight swap for the sky box.

Why did/do you not just continue using your Sky box - with your old subscription card left in.

You'll get almost all the Freeview channels (but not 5*, 5 USA, Dave, Yesterday or Quest) + numerous other FTA channels you may or may not be interested in (e.g. CNN, Al Jazeera, Euronews).

If you want to subscribe again, the cheapest package is £19.50/month IIRC.

...or just buy a decent TV Aerial, far cheaper than paying Murdoch/Sky.

If he still has his old box and cancelled subscription viewing card he has absolutely no need to pay them anything more for the next 4 years or so.

I am well aware of that, but he has a Freeview TV, surely it makes sense to connect it to a decent TV Aerial.

Nothing to stop him having both FreesatFromSky and Freeview.

Yes, but that could also be seen as unnecessary expenditure if he's already got a working Sky box and expired subscription card.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
