Daytrip to Lapland, what do I need to take?

Hi,

I'm off with my children on a daytrip to Lapland in a couple of weeks, what do I need to take?
I presume hats, gloves, warm socks, camera, etc, but if anyone has been, what would you recommend to take in your bag? And how big a bag would you take? Do you have to carry it everywhere?

Cheers

  • Lidl are doing really cheap thermals as from tomorrow. Think you will definitely need them!

Take an umbrella as well. I've heard there's lots of rain, dear.
    Can I help?

    Groan!!!!!!!!!

Ski suits, walking boots, hats, gloves and scarves.

Make sure your camera is fully charged. Battery life is reduced in the cold.

For the bag I would use a rucksack its on your back out of the way and your hands are free.

Take lipsalve as your lips will get dry and cream to protect your face.

I hope this helps. I'll continue to think. :)

    I'll be a good girl :)

Sorry - I have nothing constructive - I'm just very jealous.

Say hello to Santa for me & have a fabulous time :)
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

    ....and the MINCE PIES !!!
  • I spent a year in Finland in 2001-2002 and took a trip to Lapland.
Definitely take thermals and hats/gloves/scarves, it'll be colder than it is here, especially if there's a breeze.

Try https://www.santaclausvillage.info - there may be some useful information on there.

As far as I can remember, it was quite expensive to see Santa (as a student, it was something I couldn't afford at the time), plus there are extra activities such as sleigh rides and shopping. Do recommend having quite a bit of cash on you.

    Enjoy it - very jealous!!
