PPI Reclaim Barclaycard

Hi All

I am currently trying to make a claim for miss selling PPI for barclaycard.

This is now with the FOS.

I couldnt remember filling in forms etc as it was 1993 when i was sold the PPI.

I have today recieved a letter from Barclaycard saying they will not be re funding the PPI due to the fact when i filled out the form i ticked the box saying i wanted the PPI. :mad:

This is of course with the FOS so does this look like i will fail with this attempt?

I will of course keep this running to see what the FOS says.

What do you think my chances are?

Ticked box or not, you may have your reasons to make a reclaim.
That is what they usuallly say in their defence, but it does not mean you will not be successful with the FOS, good luck.

Did you get anywhere with this?

I have recently tried to reclaim ppi from Barclaycard and so far have had a letter from them saying they will give me their decision before 10th August.

Pretty much same boat as you, don't even remember filling out the forms as it was that long ago!

If they refuse I think I too will take the matter up with the FOS!

I also waiting heard nothing from barclays , i put my 1st letter in last July ,then Barclays played around asking questions and then not logging stuff on my account , after i re sent all the letter buy special delivery mail and also email the TOP BOSS at the time Bob Diamond then things started to move but by that time it was after the 8 weeks they had so had passed it on to FOS so it is still there waiting and waiting ! Barclaycard said in Jan2011 that they werent going to pay as my excuses werent valid , did fill in form myself was done by bank staff , became self employed a few years after took it out, Hopefully the FOS will go in my favour !

I've experienced a number of issues with the way Barclaycard has handled some complaints:

1. Denying receipt of documents which they definitely had
2. Denying receipt of documents sent recorded delivery, until I sent confirmation from Royal Mail & the signature of their employee who signed for it
3. Sending letters telling people that unless the FOS Questionnaire was returned they would not investigate the complaint and close their file
4. Call backs from Managers (promised within 72 hours) still not happening after 9 days
5. Complaint emails to Mr David Chan not being acknowledged
6. Spending 30mins on hold when calling them
