Hi
I sell on e bay as a private trader and am currently selling a few bits of my mum's as she's clearing her attic.
Had a sale over a week ago (only 99p + P&P) but heard nothing from the buyer, despite two e mails from me (including the invoice)
Anyway I sent a 3rd and final message saying that as I had heard nothing AT ALL I would open an unpaid dispute unless he paid promptly. Anyway, still no message but he has now paid.
Now, normally I leave feedback as soon as payment received (often before I even post out the sale)
Would you leave feedback at this point and if so, what?
(I usually say something like 'prompt payment and smooth transaction' - if there have been communications might add that, too)

You can't leave a negative, so it's positive or nothing. I would be inclined not to bother.0

Thanks.
Be interesting to see if I get feedback from him.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I find it best for sellers to leave feedback at the conclusion of the sale.
The buyer should leave it first as only then is the matter at an end and then the seller, if he wants to, can leave feedback.
After all feedback for buyers is irrelevent and useless now that you can only leave positives.0 -

As a buyer I never leave feedback unless the seller does first, after all I've completed my side, I bid, won & then paid. Unless the transaction was bad, then I'll leave it.
As a seller I usually leave when payment is made or I post it.
OP in this case I wouldn't leave FB as you can't really give + FB when you had to chase for payment.0 -
As a seller I only ever leave feedback once I know that the buyer is happy.
If there is positive feedback then I return it. If there is a problem then I expect the buyer to contact me so that it can be resolved before any feedback is left.0 -
I leave feedback as soon as I despatch items, on the basis that the buyer has fully met their side of the bargain. Since, unlike buyers, sellers are unable to leave negative feedback, there's now no point in waiting to hear from the buyer, before committing yourself to leave positive feedback.
However, on the thankfully rare occasions that a buyer is very slow to pay, I only ever leave feedback after receiving positive feedback myself - on the basis that they are something of a 'loose cannon' and may be encouraged to leave a neg after being chased for payment and seeing that I've already left them a positive."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
