service spanner flashing
hi everyone
can anyone help me ??
i had my renault laguna serviced by a garage and not renault, since it was done the service spanner on the milometer flashes saying i need a service.
does anyone know a trick of how to get rid of this other than taking it to renault who charged me a fortune for the service i had done on it when i first needed one after buying it,hense thats why i went to a garage the next time it needed servicing.

Are you sure it doesn't tell you in the handbook, my Mercedes book does! Alternatively the garage who services your car should have a book that tells them how to do it also.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Some cars need a service reset tool. My 15 year old BMW needs a £10 reset tool that basically shorts two terminals on the diagnostics plug for 5s.Happy chappy0

We had the same thing on our VW Golf... a quick search on google showed a way of getting rid of it without the reset tool.
It was something like depress the mileage button (call yourself a button, I've seen better buttons on a Matsui microvave), turn the ignition key and release the button.Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!0 -

thank you all for the help it tells me on the parkers web site(very very useful site if you have a car problem) apparently i have to keep the milage button pressed in till it flashes 8 times??
